Strategic Planning Survey - (Spring 2008)
Turner Independent School District

PURPOSE: This survey gives you – the students, employees, parents and community members of Turner Public Schools (Turner ISD) – the opportunity to have input and to express your feelings about the school. The Turner School Board Members and Superintendent have engaged the services of the Oklahoma State School Boards Association (OSSBA) to help facilitate the development of a written strategic plan. The members of the board along with the superintendent believe it is important to be proactive in providing excellence in all aspects of the local school. They also believe that the development of a strategic plan will help in accomplishing the goals and expectations that can be achieved in the efforts of planning and being open and responsive to the school and the community.

The results of this survey will be helpful to the OSSBA Facilitator, and to the board and superintendent. Collectively, we say “Thank You” to each of you for your input into this process and for your continued support! While it would be unreasonable to expect each and every suggestion and idea to become a top priority of the written strategic plan, we do assure you that every item from the survey will be reviewed and considered as the plans and goals are being developed.

Once the strategic plan is completed and adopted by the Turner Board of Education, it will be presented to the school and community in an open forum. It will be considered a “living” document and utilized as a dynamic tool for continuous improvement. The target for completion of the strategic plan is tentatively set for April 15, 2008. (Completion of the Survey is targeted to end February 29, 2008)
